Had a great evening on my first visit to Liverpool’s revamped and renamed Epstein Theatre (the old Neptune). The old girl is looking very swish these days.
The occasion was Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” performed by Liverpool Philharmonic’s Ensemble 10/10 directed by Anthony Marwood. Narration was by Walter Van Dyk. They gave a fantastic performance and it is a great space for this kind of small-scale music ensemble. The first half was a new work by Liverpool’s Emily Howard.
